This 6 student kit of 278 pieces teaches about how Elkonin sound boxes are used as an instructional technique which can quickly and easily show students how to segment the individual sounds (or phonemes) of words. Including 5 stampers, 6 dry erase boards, 1 sound box kit with 209 pieces, and a 58 piece magnetic teacher demonstration, this set is perfect for students working with phonics, or the Science of Reading.

• WHAT YOU GET: 5 wooden-handled rubber stamps measuring 1.6” x 1.05” for the smallest, 2-box stamp, and 4.2” x 1.05” for the largest, 6-box stamp. 6 double-sided, dry-erase boards, size 6” x 9”. 1 sound box with 147 cards sized 2.5” x 2.5”. There are 3 tabs to separate the different cards sized 2.5” x 3”. The 12 work mats are 5.75” x 5.75” and are laminated for use with a dry-erase marker. Included are 50, 0.75” tokens for word mapping. These materials all come housed in a box that measure 9 5/16” x 6.125” x 3.125”. 10 Magnetic Sound Box Mats 3.25” x 3.5” to 9.87” x 3.5” and 48 Magnetic Chips sized 1” round.
• SOUND BOX STAMPS: Students begin by placing one counter below each box within the sound box. When orally given a word, students first repeat the word and then move the counters one at a time up into the sound boxes in a left-to-right progression as they slowly segment the phonemes in the word. After students segment the phonemes in the word using the sound box, they blend the sounds back together and say the word normally as they move their fingers along the bottom of the sound box. This set of 5 wooden-handled rubber stamps feature two-, three-, four-, five-, and six-phoneme sound boxes.
• SOUND BOX DRY ERASE BOARDS:This set of Sound Box Dry Erase Boards come in a set of six They are double-sided in full color and feature different amounts of sound boxes (or Elkonin boxes) for students to use when segmenting the sounds or phonemes found in words. The dry erase surface and sturdy construction makes them a reliable tool for students to use, that will pass the test of time. Perfect for small groups or when working with students one-on-one, these boards are a must have when working with phonics!
• SOUND BOX MATS & CHIPS: This Sound Box Kit is perfect for anyone who is working with children on phonics skills, or Science of Reading skills. Children select a picture card and look at the picture, they then place the picture on a mat then graph and map out the word using a dry-erase marker and chips. When a student feels they are successful, they simply turn the picture card over to check their work. This self-checking feature makes this activity perfect for direct instruction, or independent, repeated practice. This kit features words with 2, 3, and 4-phonemes.
• TEACHER DEMO MAGNETIC MAT & CHIPS: Due to the dry-erase surface of the mats, and the fact that they are made from a magnetic sheet, you can use these repeatedly to demonstrate how to use sounds boxes or Elkonin boxes.
