This is a set of 3 items: decodable readers (60 books), decodable readers flip chart, and word segmenting & blending kit (60 Cards, 100 chips, 6 magnetic wands) featuring 120 words and are perfect for phonics instruction or for those teaching using the Science of Reading. This set includes books on two different topics: L- and R-Blends and Three-Letter Blends. As students are learning to read, there are words that are decodable, or non-decodable. Non-decodable words in this set are called yet words. These are words that the student does not know yet, whether that is because they have not learned the phoneme, or the word is truly one that is tricky, or that they need to know by heart. In the flip chart for each topic, there are 5 different stories, for a total of 10 books inside the chart. The word segmenting and blending is an interactive kit that students can work with independently. Each of the cards in numbered so that students can record answers in a log or journal.

• WHAT YOU GET: Flip chart 12” x 9” with foldable tent-base for display; laminated for dry erase markers and 30, double-sided pages of stories and content. Book set has 60 books; 5” x 7” each, 6 copies of each of the 10 books and the box is tabbed for easy access. The segmenting and blending set includes 1 instruction card and 60 double-sided cards 10” x 5”, 100 magnetic chips 3/4”, and 6 magnetic wands 7-1/2” x 1”.
• FLIP CHART: The flip chart is double-sided, so when you work in one direction the content is one topic, and when you move in the opposite direction, another topic is featured. After reading each book in the flip chart, there is a follow-up page for additional chances to assess if students understand the topic.
• DECODABLE READERS: Includes 10 books, 6 each of the 10 books, for a total of 60 books to use them individually or in small groups. With access to the black-line masters, you can also photocopy the books so that each student can have their own copy to read, color, mark-up, and take home. Each of the 11 tabs have additional resources including suggestions on how to use the books, word lists, poems, songs, and more.
• SEGMENTING & BLENDING: Within the 60 double-sided cards, are 120 words for students to read, segment, and then blend in an interactive, hands-on way. Students are sure to be engaged in segmenting out the different phonemes of word with the magnetic chips. After they segment, students then blend the sounds or phonemes together to say the word. The lamination is dry erase so that students can write on the cards with dry erase markers.
