Cylinder Blocks 2 – Thick to Thin

The Cylinder Blocks introduce children to the first stage of visual discrimination of size. 10 Cylinders progress in height and diameter from thick to thin. Each cylinder decreases by 1/4″ inch (1/2 cm) in all three dimensions, and as a result progresses in diameter from thin to thick and tall to short.

• WHAT’S INCLUDED: 10 Cylinders with wooden stand measuring 18.11″L x 3.54″ W x 3.03″ H made of solid beechwood with a satin smooth lacquer finish, each block has slightly rounded edges and each cylinder is individually sanded and lacquered.
• EARLY SPATIAL AWARENESS: This manipulative set educates the child’s eye to perceive differences in dimension from small to big, short to tall, thin to wide.
• MOTOR SKILLS: Hand-sized pieces promote small muscle control and hand eye coordination. This indirectly prepares the child for writing since the fingers and thumb for holding a pencil are used to hold and manipulate the knobs.
